Update: January & February Content

G’day! It has been quite a few weeks since my last update, because things have gotten pretty busy around H2H Social HQ. Here’s an update on what I’ve been up to.

  • First off, I have been shooting more and more photography with the brands I’m working with. Below are some behind-the-scenes shots from Number 9 Salon, plus some fresh head-shots to help spruce up Thank You Mama’s website.
  • Here are some videos I made throughout January and February, including the world renowned Florida Heat Woodfire at the Morean Center for Clay, as well as new Number 9 Salon content, and a couple website videos for Thank You Mama; all located in downtown St. Petersburg.

  • I was also excited to do a few more graphic designs for social sharing. Check them out.

  • Lastly, after having a brainstorm with Number 9 Salon’s CEO, we wanted to create a fresh vibe on Instagram that would be more consistent with appearance. So, I created three forms (I call them “pillars”) of content: 1) black and white imagery/video 2) before and after polaroids 3) just great hair.

Here’s a screenshot of the final product, but you can also check out the Number 9 Salon Instagram, to see what it looked like before.

December: A Busy One

In my most busy month yet, I was able to create a slew of video posts for my collaborators. There are quite a few, so I will keep the descriptions short! Enjoy:

I just finished my first Q as a small business owner (H2H Social), and with the new year celebration, I wanted to highlight what I’ve been up to!

Things have started to rev up with the Morean Arts Center and the Chihuly Collection in St. Petersburg, Florida. Here is a demo from the Morean Center for Clay, and one from the Morean Glass Studio & Hot Shop!

Number 9 Salon was a lot of fun in December; between the glitter hair and champagne toast for New Year’s, I had a blast! Here are most of the video posts I created for them during December.

New to the H2H Social list of collaborators, Thank You Mama wanted to do a quick social media video to help with engagement after the holidays. Thank You Mama is a holistic, alternative medicine practice in St. Petersburg, Florida.

That’s A Wrap, November!

I’m a little bit later into the month of December than I’d like to be when posting this; however…it’s the moooost wonderful tiiiime, of the year! In Florida, this time of year is considered to be the peak of “season” for most small businesses, which also means, it’s “season” for me!

Let’s dive right in to a recap of November’s highlights!

I’ve been working on a little bit more graphic design than usual, and created these holiday assets for USF Alumni to send out via email blast, and through social media.

I recently teamed up with the Morean Arts Center/Chihuly Collection to ramp up their social media game. There is a lot more to come, but here we’ve got the #MannequinChallenge for each brand, as well as some photos to promote the gallery store.

It was another super fun month with Number 9 Salon! I seriously love being part of their tribe. Below you’ll see our fresh to death, #MannequinChallenge, plus two teasers from our “9 Days of Christmas” giveaway. Check out the whole campaign through December 9th, on the Number 9 Salon Facebook page.

Last but definitely not least, I was able to work with transplanted artist, Michael Vahl. Vahl relocated to St. Petersburg from Los Angeles. A few months back, I shared a photo of his mural work on Instagram because I loved it so much. From there, we got to talking (never having met in person), and we ended up crushing this timelapse video of his latest project, “We The People.” Enjoy.

October, In A Nutshell

I know I keep saying this, but is time flying, or what?! Next up, it will be Thanksgiving; and truth be told, I’m already watching the Hallmark Channel’s Christmas movie lineup!

Well, to savor the moments of October for a little longer, here’s a quick recap!

My personal favorite was this “Happy Halloween” post for Number 9 Salon.

Next, here’s a video about new product lines at the salon. They switched brands, and it was important to let customers in on the facts behind the decision.

Presenting, coverage from the first ever TEDxOldsmar event! Loved being part of this great team.

Lastly, this slicked-back how to video was fun to make. We tested a new method of shooting by attaching a Polaroid Cube to the stylist while she created the look, giving a first-person perspective of the process.

September Recap: Facing Fears, Talking Soccer, & More Videos!

Today, we’re going to get a little vulnerable. Like one of my favorite authors preaches, vulnerability is not weakness, but rather “the core, the center, of meaningful human experiences.”

Facing Fears

Rachel-Jolley-Talk.jpg

First off, there’s a statistic that claims the fear of public speaking is number one, even above death, for most people. I am one of those people. When I was offered the opportunity to give a lecture on social media at The Morean Arts Center, it was bittersweet. I was nervous, but I also had to say, “yes, absolutely.” I knew when I branched out on my own that public speaking would be part of the deal. So, here we are.

To make a long story short, I gave a “Social Media for Artists” talk at the MAC on September 29th. I presented an hour-long, interactive session, and then we had a great Q&A after that.

Now that I’ve scaled the first hurdle in this race, I can truthfully attest to the fact that facing fears is absolutely terrifying. However, it is important to remember that the weight of the reward is much more vast than that of the fear itself.

Check out the recap on the H2H Social blog, here.

Talking Soccer

Being a soccer coach is such a huge part of my life; not in the sense of time, but in the sense of fulfillment. I’ve realized that to live a full life, I must be involved with this game that I love so much.

I was really honored to have The18 reach out for an interview, so I could be published as a ‘Featured Coach.’ I have been a reader of The18 for quite some time, and really enjoy their stories and content. So, when they reached out, I couldn’t have been more excited.

One of my favorite quotables:

“Find your muse, and keep going.”

Here’s the whole article.

Other Updates

In addition to the growth of H2H Social, I am excited to help two organization I admire and love, grow their social media communities: USF Alumni and TEDx Oldsmar.

As always, here are some videos I created for the salon in September:

More Videos!

And, the projects keep on rollin’! Take a look at some of the most recent clips I’ve created:

A few months back, I got involved with “Best of the Bay” Instagram nominee, DTSPeats. They started on Instagram, but just created a Facebook page to reach more people. So, I created a Facebook Video Ad, which yielded almost 100 quality followers, for less than $20; this totally proves that visuals are everything!

Working with the same brand, who wanted to grow their following, I pitched the idea to do an “At Home” segment, featuring products from local, DTSP grocers. The idea was to expand their base of advertisers from just restaurants and bars, to any type of food/drink vendor in the area. For the first one, I made pizza for a week!

Last, but not least, here’s another summer “hair how-to” for a local salon.
