Back in September I participated in a community-wide photography project called “One Day Tampa Bay (ODTB).” Hosted by the Morean Arts Center, ODTB brought in more than 50 local photographers to document a full 24-hour day around the bay. Each photographer submitted their top 8 photos to be juried for a number of different showcase opportunities.
On the day the event took place, I was on my out of town for soccer. I only had about 45 minutes to shoot, and it was during the pre-sunrise/dawn time frame. With that in mind, I decided to document “The Calm Before the Storm” at one of my all-time favorite spots, Central Coffee Shoppe. After that, I headed to Northshore Park in hopes of an epic sunrise.
Lucky me, I was ecstatic to have an image from the coffee shop portion chosen for the juried exhibition during the Morean Arts Center’s holiday show. (please pardon my awkwardness as I am used to being behind the lens) 😀
And more recently, one of my submissions from the sunrise was selected to be the cover for the ODTB coffee table book!
All of the funds raised from the sale of these books goes directly back into the arts community, here in St. Pete! If you’d like to snag one, you can do it here!
I had some really cool stuff come out in January, including an opportunity with Onyx Elite out of Virginia, and some of my original favorites: Creative Mornings, Audrey Lane, and MADE Coffee!
Looking back on the last 365 days brings one word to mind: wow. Near the end of 2016 I wondered if my corporate burnout would ever go away. I was uninspired, I lacked motivation, and overall, it was just a really tough time for me creatively.
2017 is proof that if you want something bad enough, the work ethic comes naturally. I’ve worked harder than I’ve ever worked before. Throughout the hard work, my creativity began to flicker again, and it feels like I’ve finally got my groove back.
During 2017 my company, H2H Social, tripled in size, I returned to coaching club soccer, and I got insanely lucky with new friendships.
So, here are some of the content highlights from September through the end of 2017. To my new friends, old ones, clients, and family – I’m lucky to know you and to be a part of your tribe. Thank you. I look forward to seeing what we come up with in 2018 🙂
Another bi-monthly update is here, and I’ve got to be honest. The number of pieces of content is starting to get too big to share it all. That’s a good thing, though. So, this is the last post I’ll do that features pretty much every piece of content I create over the course of two months. Next time (September/October wrap) I’ll be sharing my favorite pieces of content
So, this is the last post I’ll do that features pretty much every piece of content I create over the course of two months. Next time (September/October wrap) I’ll be sharing select pieces of content, whether it’s because of the success of it or because I just love it that much 🙂
Without any more delays, here’s the wrap for July and August, 2017.
MADE Coffee
I’ve been working with MADE Coffee for a little over five weeks now. Our goal is to collaborate to create a consistent, community-minded, organic following through authentic Instagram imaging.
Undoubtedly, the MADE can is the focus of their Instagram. But, staying in line with H2H Social’s vision, we wanted to humanize the brand. We started a “Meet ‘Em Monday” post where we feature a local vendor who carries the MADE brand.
And, here’s a fun, little animation to close out our first month of work together!
Creative Mornings St. Pete
Honestly, I can’t say how thankful I am to have met this amazing team of people. Being around like-minded, kind-hearted humans is something I’ve been missing in my every day, and these guys fill it in every way I could imagine! Oh, and here are the photos from July/August! 🙂

Number 9 Salon
As we enter our second year of business together, I am super excited for what the future holds at Number 9 Salon. These two months were filled with fresh ideas and great styling content. Stay tuned for more before the end of 2017!
Pinellas County United SC
I also started working with the soccer club I coach at, Pinellas County United SC. In addition to some brainstorming sessions, I am helping with social media marketing and website management. Here are some pieces of content, including blogs (at the bottom – click the image to read the post).
Salon Norrell
Through H2H Social I was contacted to create a minute-long video for Salon Norrell Aveda. They wanted to showcase their fun, dream job atmosphere. With all of my footage, I couldn’t help but make a second clip for them (“Primpin’ aint easy”). Check it out!
It has been another busy month, and I couldn’t be more happy about it! A major highlight to note: I won “Best Local Social Media Professional” for Mashable’s Social Media Day Tampa Bay 2017! Look for a separate post about that coming up, but for now, here are some work samples from May and June!
Creative Mornings St. Pete
I love being a piece of the Creative Mornings puzzle via the local [St. Pete] chapter. Every month I get to help out by snapping images from the events. These are some of my favorite captures from May and June’s events.
May
June
Number 9 Salon
In May and June, Number 9 Salon wanted to focus on trending topics, so naturally festival inspired videos and pride-infused content were our go-tos. Enjoy!
Morean Center For Clay
Joe Pintz’s solo show at the Morean Center for Clay turned everyday objects into masterpieces. I was able to create some content for them to help tell that story.
USF Alumni
Here are some super-fun content samples that did well in May and June for USF Alumni, Pinellas.
H2H Social
Social Media Day 2017 was a hit! Here’s the back-story of the celebration, where I also worked in a CTA to “Vote for Rachel” for best social pro in Tampa Bay! (It worked because later that day, I won!)
DTSPeats
“At Home With DTSPeats” is a fun way to give a recipe to followers through video. I’m already cooking up next month’s feature!
As we transition for Q1 to Q2 and from winter to spring, let’s recap with a few pieces of content from the last two months!
Number 9 Salon
Video has proven to be the most effective and engaging form of content on Number 9’s channels. Here are some user favorites from March and April.
USF Alumni
Again, I love dabbling in graphic design; especially when it’s for my alma mater! I was happy to help USF Alumni get the word out about their Spring Social.
Creative Mornings St. Pete
I joined the Creative Mornings St. Pete team as an event photographer. For the first go-round, I focused on capturing the event details, from signage to candid interactions. Check out the photos!
H2H Social
Never underestimate the power of simplicity. I loved making this content checklist for my company, H2H Social. It was a top performing post, too!
G’day! It has been quite a few weeks since my last update, because things have gotten pretty busy around H2H Social HQ. Here’s an update on what I’ve been up to.
First off, I have been shooting more and more photography with the brands I’m working with. Below are some behind-the-scenes shots from Number 9 Salon, plus some fresh head-shots to help spruce up Thank You Mama’s website.
Here are some videos I made throughout January and February, including the world renowned Florida Heat Woodfire at the Morean Center for Clay, as well as new Number 9 Salon content, and a couple website videos for Thank You Mama; all located in downtown St. Petersburg.

I was also excited to do a few more graphic designs for social sharing. Check them out.
Lastly, after having a brainstorm with Number 9 Salon’s CEO, we wanted to create a fresh vibe on Instagram that would be more consistent with appearance. So, I created three forms (I call them “pillars”) of content: 1) black and white imagery/video 2) before and after polaroids 3) just great hair.
In my most busy month yet, I was able to create a slew of video posts for my collaborators. There are quite a few, so I will keep the descriptions short! Enjoy:
I just finished my first Q as a small business owner (H2H Social), and with the new year celebration, I wanted to highlight what I’ve been up to!
Things have started to rev up with the Morean Arts Center and the Chihuly Collection in St. Petersburg, Florida. Here is a demo from the Morean Center for Clay, and one from the Morean Glass Studio & Hot Shop!
Number 9 Salon was a lot of fun in December; between the glitter hair and champagne toast for New Year’s, I had a blast! Here are most of the video posts I created for them during December.
New to the H2H Social list of collaborators, Thank You Mama wanted to do a quick social media video to help with engagement after the holidays. Thank You Mama is a holistic, alternative medicine practice in St. Petersburg, Florida.
I’m a little bit later into the month of December than I’d like to be when posting this; however…it’s the moooost wonderful tiiiime, of the year! In Florida, this time of year is considered to be the peak of “season” for most small businesses, which also means, it’s “season” for me!
Let’s dive right in to a recap of November’s highlights!
I’ve been working on a little bit more graphic design than usual, and created these holiday assets for USF Alumni to send out via email blast, and through social media.
I recently teamed up with the Morean Arts Center/Chihuly Collection to ramp up their social media game. There is a lot more to come, but here we’ve got the #MannequinChallenge for each brand, as well as some photos to promote the gallery store.
It was another super fun month with Number 9 Salon! I seriously love being part of their tribe. Below you’ll see our fresh to death, #MannequinChallenge, plus two teasers from our “9 Days of Christmas” giveaway. Check out the whole campaign through December 9th, on the Number 9 Salon Facebook page.
Last but definitely not least, I was able to work with transplanted artist, Michael Vahl. Vahl relocated to St. Petersburg from Los Angeles. A few months back, I shared a photo of his mural work on Instagram because I loved it so much. From there, we got to talking (never having met in person), and we ended up crushing this timelapse video of his latest project, “We The People.” Enjoy.
